Around the world the number of honey bees is on the decline. Bees are essential for pollinating plants & crops, to provide us with food. The Beekepers of the Maltese islands work hard to preserve ‘The Maltese Bee’, in hope of protecting the species & its honey, which Ayanna uses in products.

From dawn till dusk, Malta’s farmers are hard at work. The Maltese Islands provide a rooted complex of traditional care and knowledge of agriculture, formerly known to be the backbone of Maltese existence. We need not look beyond our own horizons for such products, we owe our support to this industry which has painstakingly given us so much throughout the decades.

Pure Essential Oils
The benefits of essential oil in soaps make handmade soaps much more appealing than commercial synthetic detergent bars. The majority of the commercial soaps contain chemical ingredients which can irritate the skin. Since essential oils are naturally obtained from plants, they are pivotal in nourishing and nurturing the skin for a long time.
Spices
Herbal extracts and spices have healing properties, which is why they are used in our products. They act as cleansers and can also help improve skin conditions like acne, eczema and even sunburn.

Goats Milk
Unlike commercial soap, goat’s milk doesn’t contain harsh surfactants that can strip your skin of natural moisture and oils. It is scientifically proven that goat’s milk contains fatty acids that help repair the skin barrier, its probiotics encourage the growth of normal skin flora, and vitamin A helps gently exfoliate.
Beeswax
Beeswax anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are perfect for cleansing the skin. It's is absorbed slowly by the skin without blocking pores and it naturally moisturises without having to add petroleum based chemicals. Some of Ayanna’s core products are based off of Beeswax and contain such benefits.
